Jingle Bells — 4 Levels, Piano and Guitar
Four chords, all open shapes, and a left hand that finally has a rhythm of its own. Turn the guitar on and it strums behind the piano instead of doubling it.

Why this one is in G
No barre chords anywhere
In the key of C this song needs an F, which is the chord that stops most beginner guitarists. In G the four chords are G, C, D7 and Em — every one an open shape, nothing above the third fret. The piano is equally easy in either key, so G wins.
One sharp in the key signature
G major has an F sharp. It sits after the clef, and it applies all the way through — you will not see an accidental written next to a note.
A dominant seventh
D7 rather than plain D. That extra note pulls harder toward home, which is what makes the end of each phrase land.
Level four gives the left hand a pulse
Bass note on beat one, chord on beat three. Holding a chord is an exercise; this is playing.
